On 1st July 2017, Edwyn van Rooyen took over as CEO from Mike Srokowski, who has accepted a non-executive role on the group board commencing January 2018. Edwyn moves into the role from his previous position as chief operating officer.
As the founding CEO, Mike has overseen company growth from its infancy, with co-founder Edwyn responsible for driving much of the innovative product development that has established Validus as the leader in its field; “To have played a part in the growth and evolution of this company over the past ten years is source of immense pride for me personally, and I truly believe that with Ed at the helm the company will flourish. He has established a great team with the talent to help him deliver against a clear strategic plan, which is fantastic news for the business moving forward”.
Ed, who has worked alongside Mike in a variety of capacities since they first met in 2002, is excited by the scope of opportunity that exists for our technology; “We have established a very solid reputational foundation, which has enabled us to look at new markets and the opportunities they bring. Our strategy is designed to maximize our growth potential over the short, medium and longer term by evolving our products and service offerings to meet the ever-changing demands of the motor insurance industry, both here in the UK and in markets globally. This is a hugely exciting time for Validus and I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to lead our business into the next phase of its development”.
