Covéa Insurance has confirmed it is piloting the electronic subrogation portal on which Aviva and Ageas went live recently.
The portal – designed by Validus-IVC aims to reduce the number of “touches” between insurers when subrogating the cost of a non-fault claim.
Covéa senior third party claims manager Javier Gonzalez said: “This portal is designed to put right some of what’s wrong in our industry around the difficult area of subrogation, which is why Covéa Insurance has committed to this new initiative, at an early stage.”
“We believe it will give us valuable support in resolving some of the problems that arise with subrogated claims, driving efficiency by reducing touchpoints, reducing management expense, and easing the flow of communication, as well as taking friction out of the process,” he added.
Aviva and Ageas also announced they had entered into a bilateral agreement to keep the cost of subrogated claims as low as possible and Covéa confirmed it had similar agreements in place.
